Carrot salad - Tamil Style







This is a simple salad - easy to make & completely versatile. You can make this with just grated carrots as i have done or else use carrots & tomatoes, or cucumber, tomato & onion....Any combo of salad veggies you have or like. It is a good accompaniment to both roti - subzi and rice with kozhambu, sambhar or dal.

Ingredients

carrots - 2 medium ones, peeled & grated
lemon - 1/4
salt to taste

For the Tadka

oil - 1 tsp
mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
green chilli -1, chopped
chopped dhania - 1 tbsp

Method

1. Place the grated carrots in a bowl. add salt & squeeze out the lemon juice. Mix well.
2. Heat the oil. Add the mustard seeds. After it splutters, add the chopped green chillies & fry for a minute. Switch off the gas & pour the tadka over the carrot . Mix well.
3. Top with chopped coriander & serve.
