This curry is made with the skin on. It tastes just a bit different, but really good !!!
This is a good recipe to make with potatoes, specially when you don't have time to boil the alu in the cooker first. & it's really quick. & awesome. + tastes heavenly with vengaaya kozhambu !
What more can you ask for..........
Ingredients
Potatoes - 4, chopped like shown in the picture
turmeric - 1/4 tsp
chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
salt to taste
oil - 2 tsp
mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Method
1. Heat the oil & add the mustard, let it splutter. Add the urad dal & stir for a minute until the dal turns golden.
2.Add the chopped potatoes, turmeric & salt. Mix well . Cover & cook on slow flame until the potatoes are cooked. ( they will look kind of translucent) .
3. Add the chilli powder & cook for another5 minutes, until the raw smell of the chilli powder goes.
4. The curry is now ready to be served.
P.S :- You can add onion in this curry too. Just slice a onion finely & add along with the potatoes & continue with the recipe.
Tastes good with all the kozambhus & rice.
