A quick dish to go with hot rice when you are too tired to do anything else.
Ingredients
thick buttermilk - 2 cups
water - 1 cup
sambhar powder - 1/2 tsp
salt to taste
chopped coriander - 1 -2 tbsp
For the Tadka
oil - 2- tsp
mustard - 1/2 tsp
methi/fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
a few curry leaves
Method
1. In a kadhai, heat the water with the sambhar powder & salt. Simmer on medium flame until the raw smell of the masala is gone ( about 3-4 minutes)
2. Add the thick buttermilk & cook , stirring continuously on medium flame.Remove from fire before it comes to a boil. ( if it boils, the mixture will separate into whey & water.)
3. Heat the oil for tadka. Add the mustard & allow it to splutter. Add the methi seeds & curry leaves & pour it immediately over the More Char.(do not allow the methi seeds to become black) 4. Top with chopped coriander & serve with hot rice.
P.S - It tastes good as a hot soup too. Try it.
