Kozhakattais & more...




It was a long & busy morning but I managed to to get my act together quite well. Systematically I started preparing all the dishes one by one.


The savoury filling for the uppu kozhakattai was made from urad dal & set aside for later use.



The kozhakattai maavu was made & set aside to cool.




Then the kozhakattais were painstakingly made.......
Some with the sweet coconut- jaggery filling & some with the savoury urad dal filling. They were then steamed for a few minutes.

The aama vadai batter was prepared & kept aside for frying.



The vadais were then deep fried to a golden crisp stage.


By 11 o'clock all the stuff for the pooja was assembled & laid out in front of the new pillaiyar idol I had bought yesterday.The pooja itself took just a few minutes. Then it was time to gorge on the goodies................
